I created the first carbon-free cement from industrial waste
Cement is the most used manufactured good in the world and the cement-making industry is the second biggest producer of Co2. This is what inspired David Hoffman and Julien Blanchard to found Hoffman Green Cement Technologies in 2014: an environmentally-friendly industrial model which is the one and only producer of carbon-free cement. The recipe is copyrighted and it’s ingredients include various kinds of industrial waste, such as the clay sludge which is obtained from cleaning quarries, granules from cast iron production and gypsum rubble from the construction of Grand Paris. This cement can be used across the entire construction sector and by using it, carbon emissions will be reduced by five times compared to the emissions of using normal cement. The product was awarded the Horizon 2020 in the category of Research and Innovation in Europe, proving that Hoffman Green Cement Technologies are fully embracing the era of high environmental performance.
