WHY A VILLA?
Embody the cutting edge of a greener, more social and more connected society
To share new trends
and new purposes
Today, the home is becoming a basic vehicle of new ecological, social and digital uses. The Villa Shamengo is a special house, open to everyone. Throughout the house each room will be featured: sitting room, dining room, bedrooms, gardens, vegetable gardens…. Any guest will be able to sleep, eat, relax, learn and work there. You’ll feel at home!
The Villa Shamengo is a ‘whole’ house with no boundaries between dwelling place, resort, work, meetings, recreation and study, reflects what the new art of living of the 21st century will be.
A house at the forefront of
green and digital innovation
With an area of more than 1000 m2 on one level, the Villa Shamengo will display a sober, refined and vegetalised architecture. This unknown place ‘both urban garden and window open to the rest of the world’, according to the wishes expressed at collective intelligence workshops in Bordeaux, will consist of a large urban bioclimatic greenhouse in which other natural and recycled building components will be integrated: vegetal concrete, cardboard and wood.
Renewable energy, conveyed or produced on-site, will be used and stored in innovative ways, in particular through the use of the Internet of Things (IoT), which we will use with wisdom to convey the right balance between ecological transition and digital revolution.
The principles of the circular economy will be highlighted through the harvest of rainwater, the intelligent management of wastewater and sanitation, the recycling of food waste (from our own production or from a short supply circuit) and the recovery of other wastes, such as glass or cardboard, into functional and design objects.
THE FIRST VILLA SHAMENGO SHOULD BE BUILT IN BORDEAUX.
An experimental laboratory
for engaged innovators
A meeting place, an exchange point, a forum, the Villa Shamengo, will also act as a laboratory for testing products, systems and innovative services, and for implementing pioneering projects from the Shamengo community. It also aims to foster the burgeoning of joint projects born from encounters between pioneers, but also from a networking process between local, national and international companies.
