I turn tilapia leather into designer shoes

Angie Chatrakul

Innovation : Marketed / Broadcasted
Tilapia is one of the most consumed fish in Thailand. Before the filets are sent to market stalls to be sold, Anchali collects their skins and transforms into them exotic leather in a rainbow of colours to create beautiful shoes for her clients.

Underneath the incredibly soft manner of this pioneer is a sharp-minded, highly independent woman.
Her shop looks like a fantasy dollhouse filled with shoes. Angie navigates the space adeptly with her small frame, but we couldn’t figure out where to position ourselves and kept bumping into shoes at every turn. We’ve never been in such close quarters for an interview!
